About

Self Portrait
It’s about the “I”. It’s about the vertical axis connecting two parallel lines. It’s also about the two lines drawn parallel to define the vertical line. It’s about the profile these lines form.
“I” am Priyanka.
The top most defining line is the profession in Communications Design, nine years long and still growing.
Beginning as a graphic designer I spent several years in the e-Learning industry. My previous job with NIIT Ltd., India’s leading Knowledge Solutions giant, exposed me to all phases of e-Learning development life cycle ranging from RnD, pre-production, execution, to optimization; all the while on multimedia.
After having my fill with e-Learning, I shifted focus to Web Design & Development and took upon freelance projects, mostly from the NGO sector.
Just when I was about to sink into being “my own boss”, Tehelka happened and I took upon the responsibility of being the Design Head of www.tehelka.com - an online news magazine known globally for it’s fearless public interest journalism. Now, the daily ferment at work and a dream project to redefine Tehelka’s online properties leave me with a lot to ‘crow’ about!
The bottom line is the creative instinct. The passion that drives me to Triveni Kala Sangam; to paint a million imaginations. The hunger that makes me capture incessant lives into my camera. The random notes-at times rhythmic, that take me to the studios if All India Radio.
The vertical axis-the spine is my philosophical, spiritual, and emotional self. A part-time gypsy floating full-time, mostly in contradicting directions.
